My husband's family all live in California and every year or so we get the chance to fly out and visit them. Our journey there was a long one starting with a 6 AM flight from St. Louis. We decided to stay the night by the airport instead of driving up at the crack of dawn. Getting two wild kids to settle down in a hotel room for the night was not easy. Neither was waking up at 4 AM to get on the plane! But they entertained themselves easily in the hotel.
Sam caught up on his favorite cartoons
while Nathan had fun playing with the baby in the mirror.
At last we arrived at John Wayne airport in sunny Orange County. Sam loved the gigantic statue of the great American actor.
Since we could not check in to our hotel yet we decided to walk around Downtown Disney. We could not go there without having lunch at the Rainforest Cafe with my own two little monkeys.
After eating we decided to check out the wildlife in the cafe. Nathan loved the fish.
Sam made a new friend.
And they both loved checking out the furry critters.
What visit to Downtown Disney is complete without a stop at every boy's favorite store, the Lego Store! Sam was amazed by the gigantic Lego structures.
He was thrilled to create his favorite Lego thing, Lego People! He made three scary Lego people complete with axes, knives, and flamethrowers. That's my boy!
All of my boys had fun at the Lego store!
We had a fun first day in California. Tomorrow: Disneyland!!!!
