No To The "Ho Ho"

My boys have never been too fond of old Saint Nick. Sure, they like getting all of the presents he brings. They love to see pictures of him, see statues of him, sing songs about him. But actually seeing the big man in person? Forget it!

Despite their feelings about "Ho Ho" (as Nathan calls him) I still make them have their picture made with him every year. It's my parental perogative to make my kids do things that I can torture them with when they are surly teens!

All I can say is I am glad I didn't pay big bucks to meet the big guy this year! Our gym had a Santa and we went to visit him one cold and rainy night. Not a good idea. Sam was not ready to see him because he didn't know what to ask for Christmas and it upset him too much! Poor kid!

Nathan was so excited to see Santa when we were waiting in line. He was jumping up and down and waving "Hi Ho Ho! Hi!". And then came our turn. And this was what we got. "No, Ho Ho!" as he gives poor Santa the stink eye!

Wayne's army unit had a family Christmas party with a Santa who arrived on a decked out jeep through a hangar door. So cool! At least Nathan was willing to get close to THIS Santa! It's almost the perfect Santa pic! But it was one of the best memories of this season. My three guys and Ho Ho!
